PaintLab is a paint mixing simulator and inventory management app for plastic model and model paints.

Select 2-3 paints and simulate the resulting color. You can also work backward from the desired color to calculate the paint combination and mixing ratio.

"What proportions of paints do I need to mix to create this color?" "I accidentally bought the same paint again..." — This app solves all those model-making problems in one place.

You can try it for free. The premium version is a one-time purchase of 1,100 yen. There are no monthly fees.

■ Main Features

【Color Mixing Simulator】

Select 2-3 paints you own or are interested in and set the mixing ratio to instantly simulate the resulting color. Ratios can be set from presets (e.g., 50:30:20) or manually adjusted in 1% increments. Commercially available paints similar to the resulting color are also displayed, allowing you to compare and choose between mixing or buying a similar color.

【Paint Analysis (Reverse Recipe Calculation)】

Specify the color you want to create (target color), and the top 5 paint combinations and mixing ratios that come close to that color will be suggested. Target colors can be selected from the paint list or obtained from photos. You can search by specifying the type of paint you want to use: lacquer, water-based hobby paint, Acrylion, Tamiya acrylic, and enamel. By narrowing your search to "My Paints (Only Available)," you can find recipes that can be made using only the paints you currently have at home.

[Get Color from Image]

You can extract colors from photos taken with your camera or from images in your gallery. You can use example photos, real-world reference materials, or parts used for paint tests to directly create your target color.

[My Paints (Inventory Management)]

Register and manage your paint collection with the number of bottles. It supports barcode (JAN code) scanning, so you can register simply by scanning the barcode on the bottle. With out-of-stock warnings, sorting by manufacturer, color system, and category, and color-based search, you won't lose track of your growing collection of paints.

[Purchase List]

Add missing paints to your purchase list. You can add out-of-stock paints by tapping them on the color matching simulator results screen. Use it as a checklist before shopping.

[Saving Custom Color Recipes]

The results of color mixing and analysis can be saved as "Custom Colors." Since the mixing ratio is recorded, you won't get lost when reproducing the same color later.

[Statistics]

You can see at a glance the breakdown of your paint collection by manufacturer, category, and color system. This helps you understand your collection trends and is useful for deciding what to buy next.

■ Included Paint Database

Includes over 1,200 colors of model paints from major domestic brands such as GSI Creos (Mr. Color, Mr. Color GX, Aqueous Hobby Color, Acrylion, etc.), Gaia Notes, and Tamiya (Acrylic, Enamel, Lacquer).

■ Secure Design

- All registered inventory and recipe data are stored only on your device (only payment-related communications necessary for purchase processing are sent externally).

- Supports data backup (export/import).

- Supports Japanese/English (two languages).

The app is free to download. The free version has some limitations, such as the number of registered items. All restrictions can be removed with an in-app purchase (1,100 yen, one-time purchase). There are no monthly fees.
