Legacy — Your Personal Balance Sheet on Android

Legacy helps you manage your household finances and financial overview directly on your phone or tablet. Designed for families and individuals who want a structured transaction log, easy-to-read indicators, and a comprehensive view of their finances, without relying on a spreadsheet every day.

Your Data Stays Home

Unlike many financial apps, Legacy mobile doesn't rely on a cloud account managed by the developer. Your entries, accounts, and balances are stored locally on your device in an encrypted database (SQL Cipher), protected by a password of your choice. Optional biometric unlocking (fingerprint or facial recognition, depending on your device). No data resale, no targeted advertising, and no automatic sending of your statements to our servers.

Journal and Bank

• View and search your transactions (description, date, amount).

• Filter by bank, account, year, or month as needed. • Import statements in OFX or CSV format from your preferred files.

• View debits and credits.

• Link transactions to your family chart of accounts.

• Undo or redo entries when the fiscal year is not locked.

Dashboard

• Cash flow and management indicators (income, expenses, surpluses).

• Chart of monthly cash flows and main expenses.

• Projection and review of loan repayments over several years.

• Summary view to track your household's financial performance over time.

Complete Personal Accounting

• Income statement and trial balance, with year-over-year comparison (N-1). • Balance sheet with visual breakdown and fiscal year locking when you want to freeze a specific year.

• Fixed assets: housing, vehicles, and other long-term assets.

• Loans: track and review repayment schedules over time.

• Manage accounts and categories tailored to your organization.

Profiles and Backups

• Multiple profiles can be created on the same device (separate households, separate fiscal years, or personal use).

• Export encrypted backups (.legacybackup) that you can store on your personal cloud, USB drive, or other storage medium of your choice.

• Controlled restoration when changing phones, without using a third-party server.

User-Friendly Interface

• Visual themes and interface available in French or English.

• Tabbed navigation: dashboard, journal, balance sheet, profit and loss statement, fixed assets, loans, trial balance, accounts.

• Guided tour on first use to discover menus, filters, and best practices.

Display of cash balance and totals consistent with the application's accounting rules.

Current Version (Alpha)

Legacy Mobile is in Alpha phase: the application evolves based on your feedback. The Android version featured here focuses on reliable, local, and confidential use. Updates are released with each new release.
