Nobody is born with financial superskills, but once they are learnt, they last a lifetime. That’s why we’ve created Gimi – an educational pocket money app for kids and their parents or guardians.
Does your child have an account with Bank of Ireland? If so, they will get access to all Gimi Pro features completely free of charge (usually €2.99/month or €28.99/year).
Gimi ensures that digital money becomes easy to understand, giving kids the same opportunities to learn about money handling as the current generation of parents had when growing up with cash.
Forget Excel spreadsheets or notes on the fridge; with Gimi, you can keep track of weekly or monthly pocket money right on your mobile phone and transfer it straight to your child’s bank account within the app. On top of that, you can also view your child's purchases, see stats on how their money has been spent, and much more.
If your child isn't quite ready for a bank card just yet, you can still manage their money using our virtual piggy bank mode.
Features for parents & guardians:
- Schedule weekly or monthly pocket money so you never forget a payday
- Assign jobs directly in Gimi. Can your child earn a bit extra by tidying the kitchen cupboards or washing the car?
- Connect your child's bank account to Gimi and get insights into how they spend their money
- Set up a savings bonus to reward your child for saving up
- Watch your child master the basics of personal finance in our lesson bundles
- Complete our family missions together to practise earning, saving, and spending
Features for kids:
- Keep track of how much money you’ve got
- Do jobs and earn extra money on top of your weekly or monthly pocket money
- Set savings goals and save up for something you dream of buying
- Plan and budget in our educational money pot feature
- Rate your purchases and learn to spend your money on the right things
- Earn stars and learn how money works in the Superskills Adventure game
In partnership with banks, Gimi wants to empower parents and caregivers to equip their children with financial skills for a sustainable future. The Gimi app is perfectly safe to use – all content is created by educational experts. There are no in-app purchases for children, and Gimi is completely ad-free.
Please note: Gimi is an app with two distinct types of user accounts. This means that both you and your child will need to download Gimi, create your own separate accounts, and connect to each other in the app to access all features.
