Master the departments of France with this interactive geography quiz! Learn every department's name, number, region and prefecture, locate them on the map of France, and discover which department each major French city belongs to.
To get to know the French departments, select the learning mode and click on the map of France — or search the list of departments — to view each department's details, including its region, number, prefecture, area, population and largest cities.
You can choose your quiz mode:
- find the name of the department displayed on the map of France,
- find the name of the region displayed on the map of France,
- find the name of the former region displayed on the map of France,
- find the name of the city displayed on the map of France,
- find what the inhabitants of the given department are called,
- find the given department on the map,
- assign the region in which the given department is located,
- assign the former region in which the given department is located,
- identify the region in which the given city is located,
- identify the former region in which the given city is located,
- identify the department of the given city,
- identify the prefecture of the department,
- compare which department has the larger population,
- compare which department has the larger area,
- compare which of two cities has the larger population,
- find the name of the department according to its number,
- find the department number according to its name,
- identify the department only by its shape,
- identify the department of birth of a well-known person.
You can also combine all types of questions into a single mode that mixes them at random. In each quiz mode, you can select between two, four or six choices offered, or type the answer on the keyboard. If your answers are correct, you advance to a higher level with increasingly difficult questions — and any question you get wrong comes back later in the level, so the app adapts to help you master exactly what you're struggling with.
This application also allows you to view your current department during your travels as well as create and share with your friends your own map of the departments you have visited.
You can use the app for free by watching a short ad video before certain levels, or purchase the Premium version for full access with no ads at all — including complete offline use, so you can keep playing anywhere without an internet connection, like on a plane.
