one right step at a time. Foundational math practice at your child's own pace.
"Other learning apps move too fast — my child can't keep up." LittleSteps started from that worry. It's a learning tool designed for children with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, borderline intellectual functioning, learning disabilities — or any child who learns more slowly than peers — to build the foundations of math at their own pace.
■ Slowly, but in the right direction
LittleSteps is not about training your child to answer fast. It's about giving them enough time to think, try once more, and arrive at the answer on their own. As small successes add up, confidence grows — and that confidence becomes fuel for the next challenge.
■ Design principles
• Enough time to think — We don't rush the answer. The screen waits while your child pauses or rethinks.
• Step-by-step hints — When stuck, the app doesn't reveal the answer at once; it guides your child step by step so they can solve it themselves.
• Voice guidance — Questions and instructions are read aloud, so children who can't yet read well can still learn on their own.
• Sensory care — Flashing screens, sudden loud sounds, and fast-moving characters were intentionally removed.
• One screen, one activity — Only one activity at a time, to reduce distraction.
• Real achievement, not flashy rewards — Instead of sound effects and animations, the app preserves the experience of a small success the child earned for themselves.
■ Step-by-step practices
From foundational cognition to multiplication, organized into 7 stages so your child can take one step forward from where they are right now.
• Foundations — Color, Lines, Dot-to-dot, Pattern match, Pattern practice, Same shape
• Number sense — Numbers, Writing numbers, Counting, Number matching, Coins and bills
• Number relations — Basic comparison, Size of numbers, Reading clocks, Calendar practice, Odd and even
• Pre-addition — Combining, Splitting, Pairs to ten
• Addition — +1·+2·+3, Single-digit addition, Carrying practice, Vertical addition, Paying the amount
• Subtraction — −1·−2·−3, Borrowing practice, Vertical subtraction, Making change
• Multiplication — Times tables
■ Who is it for?
• Families whose child keeps giving up because other learning apps move too fast
• Parents of children with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, borderline intellectual functioning, learning disabilities who need a learning aid
• Homeschooling families who want to move one step at a time
• Special education teachers and cognitive therapists looking for a classroom support tool
• Children just beginning to learn number concepts
■ Together with parents
Learning records are saved automatically, so parents can see at a glance where their child gets stuck and which steps have become familiar. The app helps you decide when your child is truly ready to move on — without pushing forward too quickly.
This is not practice for solving problems the fastest. There are no flashy rewards. We made it for the moments when a child can stay at their own pace, and for the moment when small successes add up and your child takes the next step on their own.
