Spool Scanner (Spoolmark)

Know what filament is on your spool before you print.

Spool Scanner reads compatible Bambu Lab RFID tags and presents the encoded filament information in a clean, easy-to-read format.

Scan a spool to view available details such as:

• Material type and subtype

• Color name and exact color code

• Nominal weight, filament length, and diameter

• Recommended nozzle and bed temperatures

• Drying temperature and time

• Minimum nozzle diameter and spool width

• Manufacturing date and tray identifier

• Curated third-party replacement suggestions when available

Create NFC tags for other filament

Spool Scanner can also create reusable NFC labels for third-party filament. Enter your spool information, choose which fields to include, and write it to a compatible NTAG213, NTAG215, or NTAG216 NFC sticker.

Custom tags can store material, brand, product name, color, nominal and remaining weight, print temperatures, drying settings, dimensions, filament length, and notes.

Every write is read back and verified before success is reported. Original Bambu Lab spool tags are never modified.

Scan history

Your 20 most recently scanned or created spools are saved locally on your device. Scan history is automatically deduplicated by spool or tag identity and can be cleared at any time.

Compatibility

• An Android phone with NFC is required for physical scans and writes

• Reading Bambu Lab spool tags requires device support for MIFARE Classic

• Custom tag writing requires a compatible NDEF NFC sticker

• OpenPrintTag is not currently supported

Custom NFC tag contents can be read by other compatible NFC devices. Do not store sensitive information on a tag.
